Kearney School District is partnering with ESPN to bring students in Kearney High School’s broadcasting classes an authentic learning and real-life educational experience. Through this partnership students will receive specific training on the ESPN format, graphics and guidelines for game productions. The culmination will be Kearney student broadcasts on ESPN’s digital platform ESPN3!
The first broadcast will be on August 30 as the Kearney Bulldogs take on the Harrisonville Wildcats at the varsity football game. While the broadcast work is done by Kearney students, the production will remain neutral, just as all other ESPN broadcasts are required to do. The students will broadcast all of the Kearney home football games, and they hope to expand the schedule to include additional sports as well.
