The Kearney R-I Board of Education has launched the search for its next Superintendent of Schools. Dr. William Nicely, who has successfully served as the district’s superintendent for 11 years, has announced his retirement at the end of this school year. The Board has hired EdCounsel, a Missouri firm that conducts searches on behalf of school boards, to coordinate the search for Dr. Nicely’s replacement.  The Board of Education will be interviewing candidates for the position, and anticipates hiring the next superintendent in December for a July 1, 2020 start date.
