Bulldogs Make A Healthy Showing at HOSA State Competition

Kearney, Mo., April 8, 2024: Four students in the HOSA-Future Health Professionals club at Kearney High School traveled over Spring Break to compete in the second round of the HOSA state competition in Rolla, Mo.

To qualify, students had to complete a first-round test at the end of January and place in the top 10 for their event. During round two, these students then competed in the skills portion of their event:

  • Camille Hermon – Dental Science
  • Daniel Nelson – CPR and First Aid
  • Zoe Sexton – CPR and First Aid
  • Chloe Garrett – Respiratory Therapy

Mr. Nelson and Ms. Sexton placed in the top five in their event. Ms. Hermon and Ms. Garrett each placed third in their events and qualified for the International Leadership Conference being held June 26- 29 in Houston, Texas.

The KHS HOSA club is sponsored by biology teacher Kelsey Colwell.
