This is an important reminder that there will be no classes in Kearney School District next Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 24-25, 2025; KSD employees will use those days to focus on professional development. Schools and offices will be closed from Wednesday through Friday, Nov. 26-28, for Thanksgiving Break. If you have not done so already, we encourage you to sign up for the KSD Education Foundation and Kearney High School Cross Country team 2025 Turkey Trot event on Thanksgiving morning! We wish all of our Bulldog families a wonderful and warm break! |
The Kearney School District Board of Education held its regular business meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 19, at the central office. The evening included a singing school showcase and focused on financial stewardship, student supports and planning for the 2026–2027 school year. All recommendations were approved unanimously. Visit the KSD school board's Simbli site to view all agenda items and supporting documents. A livestream video of the meeting is available on KSD's YouTube channel.
School Showcase
This month's meeting started on the right note with a performance by Southview Elementary's Southview Singers choir. Led by vocal music teacher Rachel Terrill, the students sang beautiful a capella renditions of two holiday classics, "Sleigh Ride" and "Silent Night." The second song included a version performed with sign language. You can enjoy the talented Southview Singers during the Kearney Enrichment Council's 2025 Magical Night event on Saturday, Dec. 13, in downtown Kearney.
