Yesterday, March 3, our Kearney High School Symphonic Band performed during the MSHSAA State Large Group Festival at Liberty High School, and they brought home the very best result possible.

The Symphonic Band earned an “Exemplary” rating from all four judges, which qualifies as a Gold Medal performance. That’s an outstanding achievement and a strong reflection of the time, discipline and musicianship these students have put into their craft.

KHS Band Director Chris Heil was proud of what he saw from start to finish. “The band students represented Kearney well with their behavior, their professional demeanor and most of all their performance," he said.

Congratulations to every student who performed, and thank you to our families and community for supporting music education and the arts in Kearney School District. Way to represent, Bulldogs! 💜💛🎶
